Archbishop Leonard P. Blair honored 123 worthy parish volunteers from 94 parishes in the archdiocese with the St. Joseph Archdiocesan Medal of Appreciation during a Mass Sunday, Oct. 17 2021 at the Cathedral of St. Joseph.
This year’s recipient from Divine Mercy Parish was Chris Kirby. Chris has maintained Divine Mercy Parish website and Facebook page for many years. He has done this at no cost to the parish and has done a very professional and exemplary job. During the year-and-a-half of covid, Chris recorded, edited and uploaded the weekend Mass. The quality of the work has been fantastic and extremely well done. Chris continues to livestream weekly Mass, which can be viewed on the parish YouTube channel.
Chris was joined by his daughter Grace who is also an altar server. Grace has been there with her Dad not only helping, but learning as the process unfolded. She is a great asset to her family and to our parish family.
